Georgia Power Replacement Window Rebate Program

2011 Rebate Program Can Save You Big

Georgia Power is the statewide utility that serves 2.35 million customers in all but four of Georgia's 159 counties. If you live in Georgia, chances are, your home is located in Georgia Power’s service area and you may be eligible for generous rebates for a replacement windows project. These rebates are valid through the end of 2011 and are subject to change and/or limitations.

Georgia Power offers two sets of rebates for homeowners: "Whole-House" and "individual improvements." Replacement windows rebates fall under the "whole house" program. This means that a qualified contractor will conduct an assessment of your home and provide a “whole” picture of recommended energy-efficiency improvements.

Replacement windows may be part of this picture. If so, Georgia Power offers rebates depending upon the level of energy reduction achieved by the recommended improvement(s). The higher the energy reduction levels, the higher the rebate. Here’s how it works:

Percentage of energy reduction in home achieved
Rebate (Percentage of total project cost)
20%
50% up to $1,250
25%
50% up to $1,450
30%
50% up to $1,850

How to Qualify for the Rebate

  • You must be a Georgia Power customer to participate
  • For the "Whole-House" program, a home assessment must be performed by a contractor approved by Georgia Power. (The contractor will charge a fee for the assessment, but this also is eligible for a rebate of up to $200, or 50% of the assessment cost).
  • Rebate eligibility for improvements depends on assessment results.
  • All reimbursement forms must be signed, submitted and reviewed before rebate is paid.

A nice bonus of the "Whole-House" program is that it gives you the flexibility to decide if you want the same contractor to perform the energy assessment and the recommended improvements, or if you want different contractors for these two tasks. The choice is totally up to you.

Remember that if you live in Atlanta, Georgia Power’s rebates are in addition to the thousands of dollars you can save through the SHINE program! Funding for the Georgia Power rebate program for replacement windows ends in a few short months, so be sure to fill out our Request a Quote form today to have a licensed contractor in Georgia give you a free estimate.
